Lo llevaron a un hospital, donde se certific\u00f3 su muerte.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>George Floyd era un negro que iba desarmado.\u00a0Anteriormente, el empleado de una tienda de comestibles hab\u00eda llamado a la polic\u00eda porque cre\u00eda que George hab\u00eda tratado de utilizar un billete falso en el comercio; sin embargo, esa llamada result\u00f3 ser mortal cuando la polic\u00eda se present\u00f3. Si la polic\u00eda no hubiera hecho un uso ileg\u00edtimo de la fuerza, George seguir\u00eda vivo.<\/p>\n<p>La muerte de George Floyd se ha producido tras una serie de actos de violencia racista contra personas estadounidenses negras que ilustra los escandalosos niveles de violencia y discriminaci\u00f3n en Estados Unidos. Entre estos actos se encuentran el homicidio de Ahmaud Arbery, un hombre negro que hab\u00eda salido a correr, el homicidio de Breonna Taylor, mujer negra que dorm\u00eda en su apartamento cuando la polic\u00eda abri\u00f3 fuego contra ella, y muchos m\u00e1s. La polic\u00eda comete violaciones de derechos humanos con una frecuencia terrible, especialmente contra minor\u00edas raciales y \u00e9tnicas, y especialmente contra personas negras. Tan s\u00f3lo en 2019, la polic\u00eda estuvo implicada en la muerte de m\u00e1s de 1.000 personas en Estados Unidos.\u00a0<strong>Estas personas no son s\u00f3lo n\u00fameros, sino vidas: el padre, el hermano, el primo, el sobrino, el c\u00f3nyuge, el hijo de alguien.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Los agentes implicados en la muerte de George han sido destituidos de sus cargos, pero eso no puede considerarse justicia. La familia y la comunidad de George piden que todos los responsables rindan cuentas y que se garantice que estos hechos no se repetir\u00e1n. Las acciones realizadas por el agente implicado en esta tragedia son inadmisibles, y reflejan un patr\u00f3n m\u00e1s general de uso excesivo de la fuerza contra minor\u00edas \u00e9tnicas y raciales en Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n<p>Le pido que se asegure de que los responsables de su asesinato no queden impunes y que la familia de George reciba justicia. Los departamentos de la polic\u00eda que tengan patrones o pr\u00e1cticas de violaci\u00f3n de los derechos humanos deben ser investigados con vistas a realizar reformas urgentes y sist\u00e9micas.<\/p>\n<p>El uso de fuerza innecesaria, excesiva e ileg\u00edtima por parte de la polic\u00eda en Estados Unidos, especialmente contra minor\u00edas raciales y \u00e9tnicas, resulta sumamente inquietante y debe cesar de inmediato. Le insto a tomar todas las medidas necesarias para transmitir un mensaje claro de que el uso ileg\u00edtimo de la fuerza por parte de la polic\u00eda es inaceptable y no se tolerar\u00e1 m\u00e1s.
